William Howard Taft National Historic Site

Summary
The point of this project was to learn and then inform my classmates about a national historic site.  My partner and I picked the William Howard Taft National Historic SIte. We created a powerpoint with slides about the site, the Taft family, and Taft himself.  I called the site as well as watched the site's video to gather information.  I also created a little less than half the slides, while my partner created the rest.

Reflection
I learned a lot of new information while creating this assignment. I learned that William Howard Taft was our 27th president and he was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. I learned everything about his early life to when he was president as well as everything he did before he died. Not only did I learn about what my project was on but I also learned a lot about many different national historic sites all over the country.  I enjoyed learning the information my classmates had discovered about there own sites. In order to complete this assignment, I first had to call the William Howard Taft National Historic Site to get some basic information through a phone interview.  I then watched the video on their site to really get a feel of the site itself. I wrote down all the information and printed an extra sheet for my partner.  We both then created our powerpoint simultaneously on google docs adding information and creating a way to make our presentation great. When I was making the presentation, I was thinking about how to make it visual and interesting so my classmates would enjoy it. This class overall has been an amazing learning experience.  I have learned information and skills that will definitely benefit me in the future.  I am currently taking Foundations of Business and a lot of the information from that class correlated with this class. My foundation's course was actually in the same classroom on a different day. Both of these courses had similar timelines in that the information presented was during the same time period. This made information overlap making it easier to understand and make connections between the two courses. This has been a very enjoyable class and I am very glad I took it.
